The long-established company Patentes Talgo, set up in 1942, awarded GEINSA the contract for the installation of various items of equipment for the expansion of its Rivabellosa (Alava) factory where a large proportion of the high-speed train units for its rail contract with Saudi Arabia are produced.
The work, which was planned in two phases, started in January 2013 and was completed in July 2014.
The paint shop houses six paint curing booths and a seventh located in a hall that existed before the expansion.
To suit the process, the booths incorporate an air humidification system and lifting platforms for lifting and positioning movements.
All the booths are equipped with a system for the local extraction of powder generated in the preparation procedure. This is a highly efficient (99.9%), compact system whose pump is housed in a soundproofed box that is certified for its use in Atex-classified zones.
Similarly, all the booths have a complete fire detection and extinguishing system that is independent for each individual booth.
The installation is controlled from independent electrical cabinets with PLCs to facilitate control of the process.
